
Why is physical activity important?
Exercise is important to maintain a healthy body. But you don't have to be a marathon runner, or a body builder to be in good shape. Any activity that raises your heart rate is good for your health because it gets your system moving.
More than 80% of adults do not meet the guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities. Similarly, more than 80% of adolescents do not do enough aerobic physical activity to meet the guidelines for youth. Working together to meet a multidisciplinary approach is critical to increasing the levels of physical activity and improving health in the United States.
It is important to get children active early on. Even by playing games, you'll be teaching them the importance of being active. Children are the future, and they need to be healthy to excel, and to avoid serious health risks. Teaching children about active habits is an important step toward their own health in the future. If children learn, and understand the importance of keeping a healthy active life, it will help them maintain a healthy lifestyle through out their lives.
